The Consultation Process
Before we submit any major planning, or development consent, application we will carry out formal public consultations. We have set out our commitment on how we will consult communities on our proposals in a Statement of Community Consultation Document (SOCC) that has been prepared in conjunction with the relevant local authorities. The final version of our SOCC has been published in local media and is also available, together with a Community Consultation Background Document, on our website.
Horizon expects to hold at least two phases of consultation each lasting around 10 weeks:
Pre-application Consultation Stage One: Early 2012
This will give people the opportunity to see and comment upon our early proposals including Associated Development. It is likely to include information on:
- what the new station will look like
- early site layouts
- detail on the project components
- updates on Horizon's environmental studies
- further detail on Horizon's approach to traffic and transport
- details of potential worker accommodation locations.
Pre-application Consultation Stage Two: Early 2013
Will explain how feedback received from Stage One has been considered and we will seek further views on more detailed proposals for the site.
What will happen to consultation responses
After each consultation stage we will make available on our website a short report on the key themes that respondents raised. We will use relevant responses to help us to consider any changes that we need to make to our proposals.
We will report on all of our consultation processes and findings from both Stages in a Consultation Report to be submitted with our main Development Consent Order, which is similar to a planning application. The Consultation Report will provide information on our consultation process, and will explain how relevant responses were taken into account in shaping the final development proposals.
